Such Devoted Sisters: 2015

Halloween; an emotional weekend.

If you know me at all, you know how big Halloween is for me. It is huge! I love it! This year was no different. I had a blast making costumes!

At Rory's school they are not allowed to dress up in costumes (which is totally LAME!) but they can dress in black and orange. So we made sure Rory looked fierce!

Sophie's preschool had a halloween party and she insisted on being Snow White, which was so cute because that was what Rory dressed up as for her preschool Halloween party two years ago!

For our church Halloween party we went as Riley's emotions from the movie Inside out:

I sewed the girls dresses, Matt's bowtie and jaspers fire hat and tie.

I was really happy with how it all turned out.

Not everyone knew who we were but that's okay. I think we nailed it!

On Halloween, the girls went trick or treating as super heroes!

Jasper stayed home ands helped me hand out candy. He was so excited to play in all the candy the girls brought home!

Matt helped the girls carve pumpkins (meaning they told him what they wanted and he did it). They really wanted Frozen pumpkins. I think he did a fantastic job on these two!!!

The fox says "Jasper's turning One!"

On October 28th, 2015 our beautiful baby boy turned one! Time goes by so fast!

We decided to celebrate Jasper's birthday a couple weeks early. We threw a "What does the fox say?" party on Thanksgiving Monday, while we had family in town. As I had no camera (thanks carmageddon burglars!), all the pictures from the event were taken on my phone. Thank goodness for smart phones!
Our Thanksgiving weekend began with a harmonica jam session:

Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and it was so much more fun to share it with these lovelies!
Monday arrived and we got all decorated and ready for Jasper's party!

Our fall was full of school, dance, music and family times.
Rory began her fourth year dancing at Premiere Dance Academy and her first year in the RAD ballet curriculum. She is really enjoying it!

Sophie began her first year at the dance academy in the We R 3 class.

She is so excited that it is finally her turn!

In September my Great Grandma Kirkham passed away.

We travelled down to Raymond for her grave side service, stopping in Margrath to visit my Grandpa and Grandma Hudson graves.

I'm so grateful to know that families are eternal and that I will be able to see all of my grandparents again one day!

October is General Conference month! We love being spiritually fed as we listen to our church leaders address us. And the kids love the candy jars too!

In October, my amazingly talented friend, Becky Noblet of Tangerine Photography took some seriously awesome family pictures for us.

School's in session

September brought with it the excitement of having two girls in school.
Rory started grade one and is in her second year in the french immersion program. She has a great teacher and is doing really well in school. She also started piano lessons this fall and is really enjoying them!

Sophie began preschool this year, attending the same school Rory went to a couple years ago. It's a bit of a drive to get there but it is fantastic school with amazing teachers and she is really loving it!

The first week of school ended on a pretty terrible note, with what we now call "CARMAGEDDON! We woke up to discover our home had been broken into and both of our vehicles, along with some stuff from our home, had been stolen. It was a horrible feeling and it was weeks and weeks before we were able to sort it all out and put it behind us. We have the small car back now and are the proud owners of a new van. And we are so grateful for all the help, support and miracles that we experienced along the way to being whole again. So glad it is in the past now!

Hazy Crazy Days

After the adventurous road trip out east, we kept busy for the remainder of the summer. We spent time visiting with both of our families, and went camping a couple of times. Summer seemed to fly right by!

Matt spent a week camping with the young men, so packed up the kids and drove to Edmonton for a visit!

Grandpa made harnesses for the girls and taught them how to repel down the basement stairs.

We also spent a weekend camping in Southern Alberta with the Beazer family.

We also spent a lot of time staying cool in the river. (and Matt caught a fish!) It was a great weekend!
The following weekend we drove back down for parade weekend! Rory looks forward to the parade all year long!
