On Friday, Matt's business unit held a family winter carnival at Canada Olympic Park. Rory and I drove downtown and picked Matt up early from work and then drove over to the park. It was a really fun night. Rory got to play with goats and sheep and bunnies in the petting zoo. She got a pink puppy balloon and pink puppy happy face (face paint). She did crafts, ate snacks and watch sumo wrestlers. There were a couple different bouncy houses but Rory was too shy to get in them without us and we were too big to go in with her. Families with older kids or no kids got to spend the night on the slopes. There was also a snow boarding half pipe tournament that we were able to watch from afar. For dinner we had hot dogs (joy of joys! Rory's favourite) and hamburgers, salad and so yummy chocolate cake and cookies for dessert. On our way out to the car at the end of the night we ran into the Latvian bobsled team fresh off the slopes. So cool! It was a really fun night. Seeing as our family is about to go through some serious changes, it was wonderful to be able to spend an evening just the three of us doing whatever Rory wanted to do. She had a great time! She absolutely loved it!
